04 Mar Let’s Pause A Moment
Suddenly everything seems to be popping up menopause these days… as though it’s some new phenomenon that needs to be dealt with.
It sort of reminds me of the hype about ‘insulin resistance’ and ‘metabolic dysfunction.’ Selling products to ‘help you out.’
From an experienced and logical view point these are simply ‘symptoms’ of a highly inflammatory lifestyle, and other existing issues in the body, that can be healed, or shall we say, ‘lessened.’
Didn’t anyone ever tell you that you can HEAL autoimmune and other ill-health issues?
You do not have to live with them. Some call this ‘aging.’
Well of course it is. But are you doing it well? Or poorly?
Quality of Life is what the goal should be. We’re all aging, we’re all busy. Why do wait until the fire is so hot- that it’s a do or die situation? People are still doing that. Your body and strong health are what keep you alive, not your job. Nothing in life works well or correctly when you have ill-health.
Autoimmune issues and ill-health is from decades of polluting the body until it breaks down and ‘suddenly’…. symptoms.
No. It’s not ‘suddenly,’ it’s been creeping in this direction for a while. Bad habits are sly. They play the long game.
They sneak in with addictive chemicals and toxins that deteriorate the trillions of cells in the body and the overload becomes ‘suddenly’ catastrophic.
No one pays attention until it erupts from the inside out because the body can no longer contain the load of toxins inside.
You wouldn’t BELIEVE the stories people share with me about their experiences with docs and the horrifying things they are told which are completely not true. It’s truly shocking.
They are told there’s nothing you can do – it’s aging. There is no other choice except surgeries and medicines, etc. They might tell you it’s genetics.
Genetics?!? Pish-Posh! Screw genetics! To me, that is a victim mindset.
Genetics only ‘loads the gun.’ It is inflammatory LIFESTYLE habits that pulls the trigger of inflammation and the spiral down.
How do I know this? Because I’ve been there!
I’ve healed all my autoimmune symptoms – with healthy lifestyle changes and detoxing clogged organs etc.
Now I get the joy of helping a LOT people do the same by using honest, simple information and coaching them how to create and maintain healthy lifestyle habits that finally get them results they’ve been searching for.
Heck, they work with me THREE days a week! That’s more than you see friends for goodness sake.
To shift lifelong eating patterns and overwhelmed mindset, coaching needs to be tenacious! We as humans need constant help when going THROUGH the process. Because our natural go to is to go back to our unhealthy lifestyle. Habits and habits – that means they can be broken and changed!
Seriously, how many books have I read on any form of personal growth or health where I get excited and then put it down, get stirred into my busy life and POOF! How many have you read, underlines, gotten excited about and then, nada?
Nothing stuck or gained traction that created a different habit.
I jumped right back into what is ingrained. No habits were tenaciously created and solidified.
Please keep reading. . . Stay with it. Get excited. Because if I can change my lifestyle and maintain it, along with clients doing so as well then so can YOU.
As far as peri-menopause goes, I have experienced that you can get through menopause without major catastrophe symptoms.
I’m not saying there was nothing going on with me. But it was nothing dramatic. I managed my weight. No moody swings of irritability or excessive sweaty hot flashes.
To be honest when I had a drink or two in the early evening on a weekend – there was a better chance of a flash during sleep. But that’s it.
What does inflammation in the body mean?
Excess body fat, symptoms of illnesses (all and any of them), constipation, insomnia, high blood pressure, thyroid issues, gut issues, adrenal issues, anxiety, brain fog… you get my point.
The trick is to get clean inside and lower inflammation in the cells and get health back and proper body weight first.
However you can heal at any age! So, no matter your age, you can always HEAL the body regardless of how long it’s been under siege by poor choices.
I have women in the forties, fifties and yes – mid to late sixties getting off long-term med use that is no longer needed. I don’t tell them to do that – they realize and do it themselves or get with their doc and wean off.
How does that happen!?? Because when a person is coached three times a week for a five month or longer period time where they are being taught and coached honest nutrition habits, correct exercising, sleep habits and unclog stuck organs and systems – their body HEALS. Their body begins to relax and trust them again to start healing and repairing. You can’t just read a book for that!
They no longer need rx’s for high blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid after twenty years, migraines or anti-anxiety meds. This is Life Changing. Quality of Life happens in this place.
YES. Those are real examples of some clients’ stories.
Logically, when the body can no longer take the sustained toxin overload being dumped into it year after year it WILL breaks down.
People think this is ‘aging’ – I say wrong. Incorrect! Nope.
It looks like:
Inflammation running rampant means SYMPTOMS of all weird sorts.
Autoimmune issues running and ruining your day and night
Sleep patterns and habits causing you to lay in bed exhausted yet stare at the ceiling with your mind and body spinning in sympathetic nervous system power
Brain fog, negative thoughts about self.
Low energy
Anxiety and irritability
No thanks, been there! However, I started early on cleaning myself up on the inside and out.
It’s where I began this journey twenty-three years ago.
I was 38. I’m 61 this year.
I had all the above symptoms and a lot more such as rheumatoid arthritis in hands (gone), adrenal fatigue (gone), skin cysts pushing toxins out (gone), bad hair/skin (gone), IBS/leaky gut (gone), etc.
It’s surreal looking back on how poor my health was. I had to get real with myself and my awful habits I had created to cope.
It’s why I can relate to every client that sits with me at their fitness assessment. I’ve been there.
I know a way my friend, that works when you do it the right way. Coaching keeps you from spinning out of control with false thoughts, retreated back to old patterns, conversations keep you grounded and in reality instead of wondering and guessing.
Plateauing? I won’t let you! My clients talk to me and together we find out why and I show them and tell them to do this or stop that and VOILA’ they are back on track.
I used to spend hundreds of dollars in supplements. Nothing really changed in my health, just my pocket book.
They don’t heal – they hide things at best.
You do not need chemicals to fix these things. How did we ever get suckered to believe THAT?!? We forgot to always start at nutrition. It’s always food first.
Food and nutrition FIRST is what gets the body fat and inches off. It is what lowers the scale (which is NOT the focus when we begin). It’s how your clothes fit, how you sleep, your energy, healing symptoms. Those are quality of life gains!
Covering and masking is not HEALING. There are side effects when chemicals are introduced. Always.
The snowball effect on taking rx’s is how many people live or have experienced. One after the other, building more and more side effect symptoms to poorer ill-health.
Been there too.
So many are stuck there.
From what people tell me and what I can see, people get overwhelmed, are fear mongered and listen to all the wrong things that continue them in their spiral.
They simply want to feel better and are yanked this way and that!
Been there. Again, there’s a way out that is much more self-empowering and pleasant.
Let’s keep it simply sweetie.
Learning honest nutrient fueling is imperative and the FIRST THING TO DO. It ALL starts with nutrition.
It will ALWAYS be the foundation/priority #1 used to heal inflammation, release fat off the body, steady energy throughout the day and sleep great at night. Always.
It also takes an extremely strong desire to take no prisoners and DO ALL THE THINGS. I did it when I was 38 years old. I was pissed off at myself, disgusted with how I looked and felt throughout my whole day and night.
Is it time to stop walking around the earth in this dark vortex of YUCK! Good. I hope so.
The body is magnificent, complex and awe inspiring – yet it is also simple and simply requires (begging) you to understand it instead of treating it like a dumpster.
It works beautifully when you find the key to starting your engine and keep it running smoothly throughout the day.
Your life will change in every single way for the better when you do.

Nutrition is the foundation of Full-Body Fitness courses that are offered. However, there are all sorts of wonderful things that we do as well.
I have yet to sit with someone who eats the way the body requires. (otherwise, they wouldn’t be sitting in my kitchen with me at their fitness assessment).
(side note: Last week, a client who was pushing back on the Eating Guide texted me after being gone for a week for some personal stuff, “I’ve been doing the eating guide exactly how you teach, and I’ve lost five pounds this week!” She’s forty-three). I cheered for her! I am on my clients team no matter how long it takes to get on board with the nutrition part. Did it take her awhile? Sure, but that is how we learn and create strong healthy boundaries. People have to reach the point of take no prisoners and get honest with themselves. Now she’s getting it. She’s learning – and more importantly SEEING RESULTS from it. Wouldn’t YOU get excited losing five lbs on the scale and sleeping better after a week of fueling your body right – and feel great while doing so?!? Yea you would!
The body doesn’t ‘care’ how you personally feel about changing habits, what you want, or your bad days. It’s begging you to learn the things so it can help you out.
If it doesn’t trust you to take care of it, and remains constantly in survival mode, then it’s time to stop.
Stop scrolling, getting confused, listening to another b.s. miracle product, etc.
The body KNOWS how to function. When it is under duress and spinning in fight/fight/overwhelm – it’s ‘go to’ is to shut down.
Lock the doors, body under duress, Mayday! S.O.S.!
I see so many who don’t have a clue how to R.e.L.a.X. at the end of their days. Their minds and bodies and suffering. This is the sympathetic nervous system that has taken over and needs to be shown, by you, at the end of the day, that it’s safe. It needs to be treated well during the day, and now it’s time to relax and switch to parasympathetic nervous system.
Convenience is killing people. We are soooooooooooooo busy. Stress, overwork. Putting your health on the back burner. Work work work = poor health. Rinse, repeat.

Don’t even get me started on properly strength training the body…. never mind, I can’t help myself.
The other part of the Full-Body Fitness courses are ‘precision’ strength training like you’ve never experienced before.
Seriously… I mean it when I say most if not all of my clients have come in here, started lifting like I teach and have said the following:
“Wow, I’ve never been shown how to do that like that.”
“Whoa! I actually FEEL my muscles I’m supposed to be working instead of swinging weights around or just going through the movements.”
“I’ve never done that the right way before. I’ve never been shown body mechanics or understand how to actually FLEX my muscles during exercise.”
I hear those kinds of comments all the time. It’s astounding. But I get to help them learn their body mechanics! I get to help them get their HEALTH, STRENGTH AND VITALITY BACK.
How incredible it is to experience it with them all. Such a blessing!
Anyway, don’t let menopause scare ya. Just get busy learning and being coached on how to age better. Quality of LIFE is the goal.
